cWe Month 3

The theme of month three is that Charlotte had her grand awakening!  Almost immediately after her two month birthday and her first round of vaccines (she slept for almost two days after those suckers) she entered a whole new world.  She was all of a sudden acutely aware of her surroundings and very alert!  We followed the 'wonder weeks' with Cooper and I decided now was a good time to revisit that app for Charlotte.  Sure enough she was in the midst of a whopper leap at the start of this month that felt like it went on forever.  All that lovely sleep went quickly downhill unfortunately haha.  But on the positive side we got to enjoy getting to know her personality more!  She started to smile and now smiles and laughs at us all the time!  She even stops breastfeeding sometimes to glance up at me and flash a big smile!!!  LOVE THAT!

We had to move her to napping exclusively up in her bedroom...which was kinda nice to be able to shower and make noise downstairs without being afraid of waking the baby.  She does still sleep by our bed at night, however.  She was starting be too aware of her surroundings napping in our bedroom.  I was able to make her bedroom nice and dark.  She did start 'catnapping' this month just as Cooper did.  It was my biggest fear because it can be a bit stressful, but we are surviving it.  And even after a short nap she is still smiling and happy...I can't ask for much more than that.  She takes about 4 naps a day sometimes 5 if i can't extend a cat nap all day.  Usually at least for her afternoon nap I can get her back to sleep and she goes another hour or so.  It's a work in progress!  Night sleep is ok.  She wakes up to eat once between 12-3am (usually the latter) and again at 6-7am but goes back to sleep for another hour after that on average.  I think she averages about 14 hours of sleep a day now.

We had some big events this month: Easter and the following weekend, Charlotte's Baptism.  They were both special days for us.  Her Baptism was at Advent by Tim Mitchell who also married us and baptized Cooper.  We had a celebration at our home afterwards.  Charlotte got way off schedule with sleep that morning and so she had a few unhappy moments during the service but was quickly back to being content each time.  She tolerated the water on her head pretty well!  She looked just beautiful.

She did great during the Easter service and Cooper was on pretty good behavior, too.  I'm sure one day going to church won't seem so stressful keeping little ones quiet!  Easter is my favorite holiday and it's such a pretty service.  We had great weather that day, too.  Cooper LOVED easter egg hunts and we had a nice dinner at Gwennie and Papas that night.

caught Cooper holding her hand in the car.  seriously?!  the cutest ever

this was after Cooper's Easter Program at Preschool.  He insisted everyone wear pink like him.

At three months she weighs about 11lbs 12 ounces (our weight is on a scale with me holding her so that's an estimate!)  She wears size 1 diapers and is a petite little thing.  She did move out of newborn clothes :( and is in size 0-3.  She likes to watch her brother play and stare at the ceiling fans!  I swear it actually calms her.  She is an angel during her bath each night, too.  She also found her hands this month and loves sucking on them!

smiling for daddy before he gave her a bath
bows as big as your head :)

We are looking forward to Charlotte's first beach trip (and plane ride) in a couple weeks!!!  Can't wait for a nice little vacation, I know she will be a rockstar during it.
