5 Months

It's hard to believe little Cooper is already 5 months old.  These months are starting to fly by and we are loving every minute with our happy boy.  Cooper doesn't have a doctor appointment this month, but we attempted to weigh him at home.  He's almost 17 pounds from our calculations!  Other facts about Cooper at five months:
Wears size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes
Eats 5-6 six ounce bottles/day-that's about every 3 hours and one feeding (and a BM!) in the middle of the night
Sleep continues to improve!  Sleeping about 13-14 total hours/day
Bedtime is usually 7pm and sleeps til about 7:30 am with one wake up to eat anywhere from 3am-5am on average
Still prefers short naps, but takes some long ones now, too. Naps 3x/day 30 min-2 hrs in length
Awake times are 2-2.5 hours during the day
Is starting to put himself to sleep without our help.  Our backs welcome the end to rocking him to sleep!  We are still practicing, but happy with our progress.  Thank you to the "zipadee zip" for the help with our transition!  Up next, sleeping in his crib.  We should be moving into our house Nov.7, so that seems like the appropriate time to make this next big transition.
We love you, Cooper!
things started to get interesting when he noticed the chalkboard!
"hey, what's that sign say?!"
Cooper at five months old is one happy boy!
"Did you say BOTTLE?"  he gets excited when  he hears us shaking it up now
I bought him this hat for the winter and was eager to try it on him when I got home.  This face was too cute not to share.  Can't wait to get use of that hat soon!

Also, not pictured, is Cooper's new love for kicking his feet in excitement.  He also has started to gently scratch fabrics and surfaces as he explores them.  And of course, he puts anything he gets his hands on in his mouth.  We've also noticed he responds to his name.
We can't wait to see what month 6 has in store for us!

Pumpkin Pickin

We had a great Saturday this October taking Cooper to his first pumpkin patch!  Hopefully this will be the start of a new tradition for our family.  We had so much fun and it is refreshing for Cooper to be at an age where we can be out and about.  It was a cold fall day, a drastic difference from pumpkin "picking" in Florida!! (in a parking lot with palm trees). It's exciting to be in seasonal weather again...my one complaint about living in Florida was the holidays just aren't quite the same.  We couldn't help but think how different next years pumpkin picking will be with Coop walking around!

This cuteness happened on the car ride home! Pumpkin picking is apparently hard work :)
