Wilson's First Birthday

We adopted our sweet yellow lab last January, but his first birthday was November 22.  It's hard to believe he is already one year old.  Even though he finds himself getting into trouble often, we love him so much and can't remember days without him around.  He has broken us in as parents to prepare for the real thing!

...."then comes a baby"

We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting baby Wilkinson due May 30, 2014!!!!

I know, I know, we are still finding this news hard to believe!  We feel so fortunate that our family is growing by one.  Scott and I had always known that we would want to start having kids sooner than later.  However, seeing that little plus sign sure was a bit shocking! 

All this excitement started back in September.  I was actually home in Louisville for the birth of my nephew, Will.  I had a long trip planned, 3 weeks, so I could be there for my sister when she gave birth and to help out for a couple weeks after.  Little did I know we were pregnant at the same time (only for a couple weeks, but its a fun fact for us)!  Anyway, Will was only a week old and after my sister convinced me I decided to take a pregnancy test.  I was just so confident it would be negative. However, it quickly proved me wrong!  I just could not believe it.  I went through a lot of emotions all in about a minute, but mostly I knew that my life was forever changed and this was really exciting.  Now I had to let Scott know!  As much as I'd have rather told him in person, there was no way I could wait til I saw him again in two weeks.  Instead I called him on Face Time so I could see his reaction.  He knew right away before I could even say it.  He had a great reaction!

 This is the picture we used to announce the pregnancy to our parents.  We acted like we had a wedding picture for them.  They all were surprised.  Now that we are 12 weeks along (goodbye 1st trimester!) we want to share our news with everyone.  We have found an OB doctor here in Orlando and everything seems to be going well with a healthy mom and baby.

 

When I think back over the last year or so it's hard to believe how many life changes we've made.  It started with an engagement, then we adopted our dog, Wilson, moved to Orlando, got married and now we're having a baby!  I think we are gonna settle down in 2014!  haha yeah, right!
