I'd like to start the blog where my sister left off. After our wedding on August 3, we took the Sunday to relax and chat about the big day with our immediate family. Early Monday morning we started our 18 hour journey to Tahiti in the French Polynesia. The longest flight was from LAX and was 8.5 hours. I got pretty restless but it was so worth the flight. The whole week we felt like we were living in paradise. Every picture we took resembled that of a post card.
We finally made it! This is us at the Tahiti Airport.
We arrived at 7pm their time and it was already dark. So when we woke up the next morning it was finally time to see the view. This was what we saw as our first look at Tahiti. The island in the background was Moorea, where we stayed the rest of the week.
We took a ferry to Moorea, one of the Tahitian islands. Bora Bora is a must next time we go....Scott says that won't be til maybe our 20th anniversary. I've got a long time to dream! We stayed in a bungalow at a Hilton hotel. It was over the lagoon with a beautiful sunrise view every morning. I could see Scott snorkeling under our place from the glass bottom floor! We took advantage of water activities like paddle boarding, and tours both on land and water from the Moorea locals.

The Hilton Moorea
Sunrise view from our Bungalow. We got up every morning to watch it and then would head over to the breakfast buffet. The French crepes were one of our favorites each breakfast.
Here is us paddle boarding. The first time was a success! The second try was on a very windy day which was not so successful! The tide quickly sent me far away and Scott had to rescue this damsel in distress.
Scott Snorkeling, his favorite water activity! He went out everyday in the late afternoon with our underwater camera. This was my time to relax and read or catch up on US news on the Ipad. I admit I even checked facebook every now and then. We usually would take a nap after that and then get ready for dinner.
I took this picture from the glass floor in our Bungalow
Here are some pics of us during the Moorea Tours. We hiked and also swam with sharks and stingrays...It was a little scary, but was so cool! The blue colors in the water are amazing and these pictures don't even capture the full beauty.
Don't be fooled by the smile on my face! I was literally shaking as the sharks circled around me.
See you in 20 years, Tahiti!
